A 16 hour course
designed to train inexperienced, potential surface miners in areas
including; statutory rights of miners, self rescue and respiratory
devices, transportation, controls and communication, mining methods,
ground control and working in areas of high walls, water hazards, pits
and spoil banks, illumination and night work, fire fighting escape and
emergency procedures, health, hazard recognition including welding,
electrical hazards, first aid, explosives, hazcom programs and msds’s.

UCAT will not conduct site
specific training unless the operator provides the information and
requests UCAT presents it. Instructors are available to work with
mine operators to conduct mine site training including;
transportation, controls and communication, introduction to the work
environment, escape and emergency evacuation plans, fire warning and
fire fighting, hazcom program and msds’s.
